Char­ley Case is an inter­na­tion­ally renowned artist of many dis­cip­lines. He is most fam­ous for his little fig­ures, which are painted dir­ectly onto walls and go to make up the lar­ger image of a tree. He is nomadic by nature and totally eco friendly, which meant we edited this entire film on solar. Edit­ing could only take place whilst the sun was hit­ting the solar pan­els. Char­ley cap­tures a subtle and hon­est beauty with his stills and video cam­eras. Char­ley likes to col­lab­or­ate with other artist and mix skills and so that is how became his edit­ors, ori­gin­ally for one piece then over time, eight­een video pieces were cre­ated. This piece is a sepia mont­age of Charley’s best work. We anim­ated pho­tos and draw­ings, layered foot­age and basic­ally worked very closely with Charley’s ideas to cre­ate a very spe­cial film. The film was com­mis­sioned by the City of Valen­cia to go in a glossy bro­chure which accom­pan­ied his exhib­i­tion at Sala Parpallo. The film is shown as part of an install­a­tion, pro­jec­ted from the ceil­ing into a large con­cave half sphere and rotates slowly around as you watch it from above.
