We worked closely with Elizabeths brand design team in London We Are Human London to co-create her website. London We Are Human London did the thinking and we recommended the parental template for the web design and did the coding, adding our own little touches of magic to enhance the user experience. We used CSS3 transition effect to give it a softer feel, the buttons change colour through a transition when you click them and thus making them more user friendly.

The website uses an adaptive layout which means the user experience is smooth regardless of what device they choose to view it on, like iPad, iPhone or computer.

Angus Watt’s Website

Angus Watt is an internationally acclaimed fine artist who commissioned Planxdesign to improve his online presence. We advised him on using social media, twitter, FB and Google for raising his profile on searches. We designed and coded him a website which reflected his own original design and which is modern and user friendly.

We created effective SEO text from well researched key words, which have a subtle balance between promoting Angus’ festival work and his main concern of producing large scale flag installtions in the landscape. We editied, catagorised and re-titled his photographic portfolio for use all over the web.

The visitor is greeted by the video which we made and placed in the first slide of the Slidedeck. We also placed the major areas of interest of the website in the slide deck as a preview to see what else you can find on the site.

Angus Watt is a highly regarded international artist who creates installations in the landscape with large scale, bespoke flags. He commissioned us to make a web video to illustrate his unique art form. The video appears in the slide deck on his new website, which we have also designed and developed. PlanXdesign set up and recorded an interview with him and used his voice as a voice over to describe his life work as an artist. During the voice over, videos of his flags show the many and various world class events and festivals, he has been successfully embellishing over the years. Angus provided us with his video back catalogue of his documented installations, which we then logged and integrated alongside recent shots taken by us. The film was story boarded to tell a simple story of how Angus works, from home, to his studio and out in the field, as it were. The music is provided by Angus’ friend, musical composer Andy White.

Karolina Faulds needed a complete redesign and update of her existing website — http://www.karodesigns.com. We did this implementing latest technology such as HTML5 and CSS3. We changed the structure and used the Lightbox gallery plug in, to improve her users’ experience when surfing through her design portfolio.

James is a very talented photographer and we, the graphic designers at planXdesign, were very excited when he asked us to create his online portfolio. His photographs speak for themselves, they tell stories and bring you into the very moment they were taken. It was an obvious choice, to give the images as much viewing space as possible. We knew the design would have to be easy to navigate and minimal.

A Slide Deck solution has been implemented for the main role of presenting James’ photography. It acts like an attractive, rotating shop window, which the viewer can interact with and use as an interface. The Slide Deck was modified to slide in vertical direction, on James’ request. Each slide contains an image representing a gallery and, after you click on the image itself or click the “Enter Gallery” button, you get to see a slideshow of related pictures within the chosen gallery. We employed another two navigation systems to do the job once the visitor gets deeper into the website. There is the top horizontal menu with drop down submenu, which stays on the screen at all times and a summary menu in the footer.

The design uses a monochromatic palette with a tiny touches of green to lead the eye of the visitor to the point of marketing interest. The structure of each template, in the theme, is made of a horizontal menu, header, content area and footer.

One of the requests James had, was to implement a newsletter subscription, in a way that rewards people once they subscribe. We used a set of freebie photographs in high enough quality to be used as desktop wallpapers. The home page advertises a free download and after clicking the button, the visitor is lead through a process of subscribtion involving filling a form, confirming the email address by clicking at the link in his email box and at the end he is rewarded with three free wallpapers to download.

Charley Case is an internationally renowned artist of many disciplines. He is most famous for his little figures, which are painted directly onto walls and go to make up the larger image of a tree. He is nomadic by nature and totally eco friendly, which meant we edited this entire film on solar. Editing could only take place whilst the sun was hitting the solar panels. Charley captures a subtle and honest beauty with his stills and video cameras. Charley likes to collaborate with other artist and mix skills and so that is how became his editors, originally for one piece then over time, eighteen video pieces were created. This piece is a sepia montage of Charley’s best work. We animated photos and drawings, layered footage and basically worked very closely with Charley’s ideas to create a very special film. The film was commissioned by the City of Valencia to go in a glossy brochure which accompanied his exhibition at Sala Parpallo. The film is shown as part of an installation, projected from the ceiling into a large concave half sphere and rotates slowly around as you watch it from above. This gives the film an even more magical feel. An Art film by Charley Case, edited by Emma Plunkett.

Rafflesia Designs is the name of a new corset design business. Our client took the name Rafflesia from the world’s largest flower, which can reach up to one meter in diameter. When she saw one in Indonesia, she was so taken by the magnificence of this rare flower that she decided to name her new business after it. We based our preliminary sketches from photographs of the plant and decided to go with displaying it in a for shortened perspective with the petals either side drawn to resemble wings. The client chose the colour scheme of red, black and silver and although she originally requested a dark background, we all decided that the a lighter silver background would set off the red of the flower better.

The client was very passionate about using the Edwardian Script for the logotype to represent the antique nature of her product, which is the design and production of very classy corsets. We also used the sans serif typeface Kabel LT Std light cut to represent Rafflesia Designs as a modern and dynamic business. The love heart dots were requested by the client for a feminine touch.
